Saint Nicholas Lutheran Church
WORSHIP SERVICES

outdoor sign

We praise God for every faithful worshiper and pray that God's Spirit will rest on each member and visitor alike as we worship together. Saint Nicholas offers 3 unique worship experiences and a Sunday School on Sunday mornings, each lasting about one hour.

Freedom and flexibility in worship is a Lutheran inheritance, and there is room for ample variety in ceremony, music, and liturgical form. Every service, whether elaborate or spare, sung or said, is within the framework of the common rite of the Church, so that the integrity of the rite is always respected and maintained.

7:45 AM
EARLY
hands holding

This is an intimate, mostly spoken service, usually without hymns or music. The liturgy is taken from the Lutheran Book of Worship (LBW).

9:00 AM
TRADITIONAL
hands praying

This is the traditional Lutheran (ELCA) service that follows one of the 4 standard settings found in the Lutheran Book of Worship and With One Voice (WOV). Learn more about the different parts of the liturgy...

11:15 AM
CONTEMPORARY
hands claping

We call this our Sing & Rejoice service to reflect its generous use of uplifting songs and music. Since the words and songs for the entire service are projected onto a large screen, your hands will be free to clap along with the music provided by our Sing & Rejoice ensemble.

Common elements in all three services include Holy Communion, the Lord's Prayer, scripture readings, and a sermon. All of the material that you need in order to follow the service is printed in the bulletin.
