Thirteen of our youth learned who they are at Shekinah, a Metro DC Synod retreat for middle school students. The weekend’s focus was a reflection on who we are, who do others say we are, and who does God say that we are. Through large group meetings and small group discussions, the youth saw skits, heard messages, sang songs, worked together on video projects, played games, and hung out with 250 other middle school youth from around the synod. In the end, they were reminded that they were a child of God, and truly came away from the weekend with a better appreciation of what that means and how blessed they are to be a child of God.
