The Reverend Dr. Gregory Gaertner – “Pastor Greg” – has served as pastor at St. Nicholas since August 2005. He and his wife, Linda, have four grown children and two grandchildren.

Pastor Greg grew up in Chicago but has lived in the area for the past twenty years. He has an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, an M.A. and Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Chicago, and a Master of Divinity professional degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. Prior to entering full-time ministry, he taught social science research methods at the university level and directed research and consulting in private industry.

Pastor Greg is excited about preaching, teaching confirmation, visiting with families and all kinds of worship. His focus is on making worship and the congregation friendly, reverent and joyful.
